Preparation
The MightyDot system is easy to use. Simply decide where you are going to mark your assets with MightyDots. Make sure the asset is clean from grease, oil, wax, dirt and other deposits*.
If not, please wipe surface with Prepsol or Triclean. To make life difficult for the thief, hide most of the MightyDots, but leave a few in obvious places that can be easily seen.
When applying MightyDots on vehicle parts there is no need to move or get underneath the vehicle.
How to Apply MightyDots
- Please read safety and warning information prior to use.
- For vehicles only: Place the MightyDot PIN barcode along with the Vehicle Identification Number of the vehicle on the work sheet. Place second barcode sticker on end of driver side door of post.
- Shake container vigorously for 10 -20 seconds before removing cap. Unscrew lid, place applicator brush in adhesive until you can see the number of MightyDots you want to mark the item with. (If there is too much adhesive on brush, wipe some off on inside of container.)
- For vehicles only: If contents are spilt or contaminated, record number as damaged and replace with new MightyDot PIN code. Do not mix dot kits between vehicles.
- Dab the brush gently on the surface of the item to be marked until Dots and Adhesive remain on item. This will leave a small dab of adhesive containing the MightyDots.
- For vehicles only: Follow our suggest locations for applying to vehicles.
Please do not apply adhesive or dots on the surface paint of the vehicle, in air conditioning ducts, face of alloy wheels or any other cosmetic part of the vehicle. If done so, quickly wipe and clean with a damp cloth within 5 minutes.
- Several markings can often be obtained from one brush full. To replenish the brush, replace brush back into container and repeat the process.
- Care should be taken to apply enough adhesive to cover the dots. We recommend recoating marked areas with the excess adhesive. Additional layers of adhesive aid in protecting the Dots from the harsh elements and make it more difficult for thieves to remove the MightyDots.
- When completed, ensure that bottle and brush are disposed in a manner that avoids theft, possible reuse or general pollution.
